Hello \O I'll join in (perhaps late). Currently I'm writing an OC laden, novel length fic with an original, but canon compliant adventure. The main characters are two of my favorite OCs and they are accompanied by their love interests from the canon. In the entire thing there are 5 OCs and 3 Canon Characters, lol. This entire project is self-indulgent in that way. I do have my own original work projects, but this fic is fun because I love the canon material so much ^_^

Mostly I like the idea of filling in pieces of canon that happen behind the scenes, not necessarily with the main characters or with main plot points, but how the world moves without them.

I also ended up with an idea for a short story spin-off of one of the side character OCs!

The OCs being accompanied by their love interests is so sweet! I love self indulgent stuff like that. Just like the 5 OCs with 3 canon characters! It's great that the canon material provides you with a lot creativity!!

Yes!! I love thinking about "background characters" living their lives. For example, a group of friends from different Houses at Hogwarts who are attending at the same time as Harry and CO but I don't care to focus about what Harry and his friends are up to, just what these OCs are doing in school and how they become friends.

It sounds like you're having a lot of fun with your OCs and world building and that's awesome! Hope you're getting a lot written and the ideas continue to come!
