Oof. I wouldn’t be able to watch that, tbh. Those little glimpses aren’t meaningless because even if off screen they’re doing the right thing, that means the poor pup is being taught mixed signals. Just to clarify: No criticism meant towards people who are into fisting or prefer non-penis-shaped dildos. 14-year-old me was just really shocked by the suggestion that someone could use (more than) a full forearm as a sex toy.

I was briefly in Monaco. Not sure about the local laws, but the owner certainly didn't stop us (a group of teens) walking in. I ended up buying a Pocket Rocket type vibe.

In case you really meant "why", it's simply because I was curious. I already had a sex drive, was masturbating, and was interested in making the experience even better for myself. While the vibe of the place wasn't to my liking, I did realize that sex toy shops weren't necessarily awful places. I later discovered female- and queer-focused stores. And the pocket rocket ended up being a decent investment for teenage me.

Asking why a 14 year old(who wouldn’t be allowed in a sex toy store in a lot of countries) was in a sex toy shop isn’t a question related to fandom though. Whether you think the question alone is Puritan, or that it didn’t deserve an answer is a different story, and one based on opinion. But it still wouldn’t make them a “fandom” Puritan, so I don’t know where that part came in.

The 14 year old in question was the person commenting, not a minor they were responsible for. The request to justify why they were in there had so many layers of puritanical bullshit to it.

I know? I never said the 14 year old was a minor they were responsible for. It’s pretty clear that they are telling this story about themselves when they were 14. And in a lot of countries, 14 would be considered a minor, and not let into a sex toy shop. But either way, they already answered that it’s because the owner didn’t stop them, so the question was answered.

I also never asked them to justify themselves, or passed judgment on them in any way. My comment was mainly pointing out how it’s weird to call someone a fandom Puritan when this anecdote doesn’t involve fandom at all.
