I saw there were a couple of us that got our covid boosters yesterday. How are you all today? My arm is sore and swollen and I'm feeling a little achy and wiped out but its not awful. I had a similar reaction to the first vax dose and felt like crap for a couple of days afterwards so I expect this to be similar. Hope you're all faring better.

Yeah, I think I won't bother with the booster. I seem to be getting on okay on the first two. I don't fancy going into plague central to get a booster that will stop me getting infected in plague central later. I reckon I'm more likely to get sick before it can take effect if I do.

Wear a mask?

Unless it is a full face mask with its own air supply, once the virus particle concentrations get high enough not even an N95 is good enough. The only place round here that is offering boosters is in the very hospital that is already overwhelmed with patients and full of people coughing all over the shop. I'm safer out in the countryside and working an isolated lifestyle.

We have these people posting here now. Lovely.

Boosters are not effective if you end up getting infected on the way to getting the booster. If they find a way to give the booster that doesn't involve calling people into a crowded hospital full of the infected and infectious, then I'll get it.

NAYRT--that sucks that that's your only option; my work was trying to get the stragglers who haven't had their shots at all to come in, and threw it open for booster seekers, so I got mine at our headquarters. Taking the bus there was riskier than going inside to get the shot.

I had a coworker who just got one at a local high school after work, and everyone stood outside until it was their turn. Safer than crowding inside, but cold!

Uh, wear a KN95 or N95 mask like anybody who has to work with Covid patients every day?

This is a silly reason not to get the booster.

Do you not know the infection rate among healthcare workers? We have a huge shortage because so many of them have died or developed long covid.

It's you choice. As long as you'll practice social distancing and wearing a mask you and other people should be fine.
But there was really no need to write this choice of yours in reply to OP's post.

I'm keeping threads on covid vaccines in one place. It is responsible threading. This way people who don't care about Covid vaccines can skip down to a subsequent one on a different subject, if someone starts one of course.

I'm genuinely curious about what mental process led you to believe it's OK and "responsible threading" to post so negatively to a wholesome post asking about people who GOT THE BOOSTER yesterday. I get that it's difficult time for everyone, but damn. :(
I'm sorry you can get the booster only at the hospital. It sucks. I hope there will be more availability for you soon if you ever wish to get the dose. Be safe.

its only half a dose with a significant boost of immunity

I'm not one from yesterday, but I got mine a couple of weeks ago and this one was much better than my second shot - I was feeling the effects from that one for a week and a half, my arm was only sore for three or four days, but the sensitivity and fatigue took a while to fade. This one, there was only some arm soreness for a day or so, with some tiredness and intestinal upset for a few more days.

Not one of the ones from yesterday, got mine a few days ago. I had a pretty similar reaction to you, but feeling fine by now. Hope you'll get there soon too!

totally fine. the injection spot is a tiny bit sore but that only affected which side I slept on. other than that, no issues. even got a five mile walk in today before the wind and storms came in.

Moderna booster reporting in, doing just fine with no side effects aside from the sore arm. It's more sore than it was for my second shot but not as bad as the first? So all in all, I can't really complain here.

got my comirnaty booster roughly 3 weeks ago.
Had significantly less side effects than with the first 2 doses.
just a slight soreness in the arm and the axially lymphnode was swollen foe a week.

Not my booster, just had my second jab though as I was too unwell for ages to get the vaccine at all. I'm very excited. Got a sore arm and feeling crap, but I also have a chest infection so not unexpected.

Congrats for your second jab! I hope you'll feel better soon.
