My booster shot buds from yesterday: how are you feeling today?

I saw there were a couple of us that got our covid boosters yesterday. How are you all today? My arm is sore and swollen and I'm feeling a little achy and wiped out but its not awful. I had a similar reaction to the first vax dose and felt like crap for a couple of days afterwards so I expect this to be similar. Hope you're all faring better.

Yeah, I think I won't bother with the booster. I seem to be getting on okay on the first two. I don't fancy going into plague central to get a booster that will stop me getting infected in plague central later. I reckon I'm more likely to get sick before it can take effect if I do.

I'm not one from yesterday, but I got mine a couple of weeks ago and this one was much better than my second shot - I was feeling the effects from that one for a week and a half, my arm was only sore for three or four days, but the sensitivity and fatigue took a while to fade. This one, there was only some arm soreness for a day or so, with some tiredness and intestinal upset for a few more days.

Not one of the ones from yesterday, got mine a few days ago. I had a pretty similar reaction to you, but feeling fine by now. Hope you'll get there soon too!

totally fine. the injection spot is a tiny bit sore but that only affected which side I slept on. other than that, no issues. even got a five mile walk in today before the wind and storms came in.

Moderna booster reporting in, doing just fine with no side effects aside from the sore arm. It's more sore than it was for my second shot but not as bad as the first? So all in all, I can't really complain here.

got my comirnaty booster roughly 3 weeks ago.
Had significantly less side effects than with the first 2 doses.
just a slight soreness in the arm and the axially lymphnode was swollen foe a week.

Not my booster, just had my second jab though as I was too unwell for ages to get the vaccine at all. I'm very excited. Got a sore arm and feeling crap, but I also have a chest infection so not unexpected.

Weird weather

The weather here has been so weird this month. It has almost been alternating hot days followed by freezing days. Really just whipsawing back and forth between the two. I wish it would just settle down into one or the other.

What is the weather where you are, fellow FSers?

Same here in Oklahoma. Was 40 then 70 today. Going back to 40 tomorrow. Also, windy as fuck right now.

same here in Tasmania Australia. usually it should be sunny but even for our fair four-seasons-in-one-day state it's been unusually chilly for December. we'll have a couple of hot days in a row but then it'll storm or be cloudy and cold the rest of the week.

60 and windy this week. In Michigan.

I think one reason I've been having no luck remembering that the holidays are coming up (which is just as well, I'm largely avoiding anything to do with them) is because thanks to freaking climate change, we have the same weather in December now as we do in May. Last year I went for a walk in sandals on Christmas and picked dandelions for my bunnies. My bunnies were happy about that, at least.

I really, honestly, would rather have the -30F wind chills for a few weeks like we had a couple years ago. That was less jarring for this time of year.

VERY warm for the month (mid-70s), extremely extremely windy. Like - 'look out, wind!!' kind of windy.
It's nuts.

We were down below freezing just last week. I'm in the middle of Missouri. This is not the weather i grew up with!

Super windy and rainy. Not nice at all as I had to do a bunch of driving today. The overcast is nice, though, since I'm on day 3 of a migraine.

It was so windy last night, but I think it's been a somewhat milder winter than usual here. I moved a couple of hours drive east and 2000 ft up in elevation from where I had been living before at the end of October. I had been living in the Phoenix area, though, so even though this has milder for the area (an average of mid 60s so far this month when the historical monthly average is high 50s), it's a little colder than I'm used to, especially at night, that elevation makes a difference. But I'm not entirely sure, I think all of southern Arizona has been warmer and dryer than usual for the past couple of years, and it's usually pretty warm and dry here, so it's been something.

It's been *super* hot and dry up here in Colorado. Well, relatively hot, 40s and 50s. And we had a major wind storm today and we don't normally get those.

We had a lovely cold snap last month, but now it's back to the creepy mild mild mild weather. I hate it, it freaks me out.

Apparently the Arctic reached 38 degreesC one day this year. That's usual Med temperatures. Jesus fuck we are so screwed.

I'm in Iowa, and we had a fucking tornado watch today, and severe thunderstorms blow through. There were tornado warnings in the western part of my state and everything (most of them were more for straight line winds than because of actual tornadoes touching down, though there were a few touchdowns along the way, but still). We JUST had a snowstorm last Friday, and today it was in the 60s and 70s throughout the state before the storms hit.

Fortunately, my town lucked out - we had a severe thunderstorm warning, and got some thunder and lightning and rain for about five, ten minutes, and the power went out for a few hours. But that was it. Now it's just really windy outside and the temperature is dropping like a rock - it's currently 32 degrees right now.

But yeah, I hate that we even had severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in December here at all. I'd rather have the snow and cold, thanks.

We finally got snow yesterday and today after not having any since October. It's been very warm this year but hopefully it's finally cooling down again for awhile.

L.A. Schools

Los Angeles schools are a fucking mess. I've been writing a fanfic for an older show, set in LA in the eighties and trying to find out which schools the characters' kids would have gone to is impossible. The LA school system seems have made it so there is no reliable way to find out who would have gone where. Does anyone know any way to decode the mess that is LA schools?
