Whip this out if and only if someone has recced it directly to you, and are asking what you thought of it. If it's a group discord and they haven't singled you out, or even if they did but don't really care to find out if you actually read it and/or have thoughts on it, feel free to ignore the rec wholesale and please love yourself, don't feel bad for "nah not my cuppa." To that end, you can always just say "nah, [kink or tagged element] isn't really my cup of tea" and that's fine. Anyone who would get pissy over you saying either phrase is someone you don't want to engage with.
I know, feelings are irrational and sometimes you can't help it especially if you know the other party took time and effort to try, but unless you're absolutely sure the reccer is sensitive and will fly off the handle over basic human interaction, you don't have to feel bad for any reason. If anything, a person who can't handle you turning down their rec absolves you of having to feel bad. Take it as a bullet dodged, OP!
