Is this still true of MCU fandom today? That seems more the vibe of MCU fandom circa 2012-2016, but I admit that I haven't been paying close attention.

I don't really dip extensively into the fandom anymore but from what I've seen since about 2016-17, it depends what part of the MCU is your main thing. For example, anyone who is a fan of ALL the Thor films is generally not going to have a good time in tumblr tags because it feels like "pick one" as in - you can't like all three, you can only like #1 and #2 but can't also like #3 and same the other way around.

That and even a lot of the people who have Ragnarok as their fave hate what Endgame did to Thor so there's sort of mini arguments within major arguments of how much interpretation X from film Y of certain characters sucks.

(Personally I mostly did not like Endgame Thor so feel like they do have a point in that case.)

Anyway, my feeling being that I'm sure there are parts of the overall MCU fandom where "everyone is good friends" vibes still exist but I had to stop reading most of the Thor media tags on tumblr because my experience was very much...not that anymore.

I think they meant the fic and art of the characters “being good friends” isn’t what it used to be back in 2012-2016 when things like fics about all the Avengers living in Stark Tower and having movie nights was at it’s peak. Not about the fandom members all being good friends.

Oh yeah I got that, I forgot to add in my comment that I was just saying that I'm not sure the Stark Tower "everyone lives together" stuff was really a thing beyond a certain point in time but maybe there's friendship stuff in some quarters still but definitely not the corner where I (used to) hang out.

EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it there was a bit of a rival of buddy-fic with The Revengers in 2017 ("everyone lives on the Statesman") but it didn't last very long.

I misread that, sorry! I get where you’re coming from now.

That's ok. It's the nothing space between Christmas and New Year so I wasn't feeling particularly articulate when I originally typed! Been the longest week that's actually only a couple of days long already :)

Your comment was perfectly understandable, my reading comprehension just failed me for a sec lol. I totally get that, it’s been a weird and long almost week for me too :)
