Normally my advice for a problem with structural problems with a house is to burn it all down, collect the insurance, and start again. I can see that that might have a bit of an issue here.

I have no desire to ruin my life by committing arson and then insurance fraud.

Given the problem is asbestos, it would only be attempted arson and fraud.
