For an individual bi person, it can definitely matter, the same way it might or might not matter to an individual straight or gay person. Attraction is complicated, and can be influenced by conscious or unconscious expectations and baggage. And there are transphobic bi people (and transphobic pan people, omni people, etc. - there is no flavour of queerness that inoculates against transphobia).
