wishful thinking. I mean, if you aren't here to see hot takes on fandoms you're not in delivered with a healthy serving of salt, why would you have that reaction? what does FS have to do with your obscure, dead fandom and why are you worried someone's salty take would ruin your enjoyment of this show? it's not like fandom is all squee and sunshine everywhere else.

IDK if I'm the only one for whom this is true here, but personally this is my only fandom social media space I bother with. Maybe it's true for OP too.

If all it takes is seeing one measly secret about the show you enjoyed to ruin it for you, you sound very vulnerable, OP. I hope this isn't true, and that you're exaggerating for effect because that would be rather troubling.

Well, sure. But OP didn't say they were tired of hearing negativity, they implied that seeing secrets about something they enjoy would ruin their enjoyment of that thing. That's a little out of the norm, surely?

I mean, sure. But that doesn't negate what I noticed about having your enjoyment ruined by a few secrets. If that's true, then stepping away from the community might be a healthy thing for the OP. But it seems a little unusual and worth paying attention to, just for the self care issue.

Who mentioned mental illness? Only you did. Being in an emotionally vulnerable state isn't a mental illness, but it's something that might call for extra self-care and attention.

I've never had a secret here, no matter how negative and critical, ruin my enjoyment of something. Valid criticisms and creators being garbage I'm usually already aware of from other sources and everything else... whelp, everyone has my permission not to like all the same things I like.

I am puzzled by two implications about FS secrets in this secret.

1) That because the program is from ten years ago, there won't be any secrets about it. Yesterday, there were secrets about:
Box of Delights, which aired in December 1984, ~37 years ago
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, which last aired first-run episodes in 1999 ~23 years ago
Puff Daddy's Come with Me video, which was first shown in 1998, ~24 years ago
Knights of God, which was broadcast in 1987, ~35 years ago

There have been secrets about books over a hundred years old. And some much older things, too, like the Bible, Greek mythologies, Norse mythologies, etc.

2) That secrets posted would ruin your enjoyment. While some secrets do absolutely seem to want to revile the referred to media and/or the fans of said media, some secrets are positive, some are neutral, some are just critical of certain aspects (which you might agree with) while still liking the media.
