Funny thing is that I feel they jumped the shark in Season 6. Where do you think Lucifer jumped?

Season 4 felt rather off to me - adults behaving like teenagers mid-puberty etc. I needed a month-long break before starting season 5. Watched the first two episodes last night, and this is definitely jumping shark territory. Michael is such a stupid stupid trope!

I'll keep on going. I'm rather meh about the show, but I'm watching it in memory of a friend who died last year. She loved the show but never got to see the last season. So I'm watching it from the start for her. It makes me feel like I'm connecting with her, and that's a good thing. Never mind the sharks and all.

AYRT - I'm sorry for your lost and TBH I wouldn't even bother with season 5 and 6 because is like you said of season 4, but in steroids. At least, imo, the show ended in 4.

The end of the last season was a little much for me, too- part of me revels in the over-the-top absurdity of it... the rest has cringed and started watching something else.

DA: I was so hyped for season 6 until certain shit happens and I just wanted to see how it ended. It just cemented my opinion that it should have ended in Season 4.

As someone who stopped watching after season 3 (I watched the first couple of eps of season 4 and realised the show wasn’t fun anymore) I wish I could have seen the original S4 that they had planned before Netflix ‘saved’ it

I've always felt the writing for Lucifer was refreshing from a feminist point of view, and bucked a lot of male-gaze trends - such as the 'main girl' being in her 30s, having a complex fulfilling career, a child from a previous marriage and a positive relationship with her ex. I also loved that the women of the show had such deep and overwhelmingly supportive relationships with each other, and that the narrative didn't punish Chloe for pursuing romantic as well as professional fulfilment.

I felt like a lot of those strengths were backtracked on during season 6. I'm just going to pretend it ended at 5b, where they at least have the potential to be happy without needlessly being forced to sacrifice huge parts of their lives and families.

I always says it ended on Season 4 because it sorta the same with Season 6 (Lucifer returning to Hell), but at least it has sense in Season 4 to protect his closest ones. Season 5 and 6 was his "I'm never going to have kids" and "I'm never going to do what Dad did to me"'s tropes thrown to trash.

I would have preferred Lucifer to end sooner. I liked the end of season 4 being the series finale - it was not a happy ending, but it fit. I thought season 5 was fine, but season 6 was kinda meh, bit of a dumpster fire. There were still big chunks of it that I enjoyed, because I love the characters, but honestly, it wasn't a good season. And the series finale sucked.

IA, the whole "Lucifer wants to be God" thing totally ruined it for me. WTF? He hates God and being The Man would be the worst thing for him. He's the Anti-Man for chrissakes.
