I mean, when Amy Coney Barret was being confirmed for the Supreme Court, Twitter kept referring to her as some character from the series (I forget the name) and it was definitely not a nice implication.

...I don't think so? I think "Aunt" something was what I kept seeing trending and was really confused until the little explanatory blurb in the sidebar said something about "users are comparing Amy Coney Barret to a character in The Handmaid's Tale". And then I still didn't know why, but at least I knew why I didn't know why. XD
