Re: What changes between source material and adaptation were you happy about?

I liked a lot of the changes they made in Word of Honour in comparison to the novel but how they changed the Scorpion King character was by far the best. He was such a bland non-entity in the novel and I loved him in the drama.

He was so good in the drama.

In the novel, Ye Baiyi was by far my favourite character and I still love him in the drama but yeah, Xie Wang definitely took the "absolute fave" spot from him haha.

Agreed very much on Scorpion King!

On a similar note: Guardian. Let's not talk about the quality of it, but the IDEAS. I liked the idea of the time travel so much better than the gods stuff.

Never watched Guardian because I heard they changed (had to for censorship reasons?) the ending so I never was interested. But I have heard generally good things about it!

I say they did the best with what they had which were a lucky hand in picking the two leads and good ideas... sadly the other things they had were censorship, executive meddling and a budget of 5 bucks and a cracker and I'm not even sure about the cracker.
