I dunno, first season had such a high energy of LARP groups of my pretty much slavic childhood/youth.
I don't really like nor show nor books, so whatever

Haven't read the books, either, but as someone raised with Slavic fairy tales/myth - this show feels Slavic than anything I've seen come out of American media. Might be that the books are more so, of course.
