This movie is very much a product of it's time. Looking back, it's problematic in many places and also just not very emotionally intelligent.

But isn't it soooooo romantic???? Particularly all the parts where boundaries are inappropriately crossed!

If they released this movie now, I'd just assume it was a parody of romance films.
