Never read the books or played the games, so I can't comment on any adaptation issues, but how is Geralt being a 'monosyllabic slap of meat' the fault of 'bizarre casting choices'? It's not like Henry Cavill is not capable of doing more than glaring, grunting and saying "fuck" a lot. If you want to blame someone for that, blame the writers, directors etc.

Henry Cavil is apparently a big fan of the books and games. He also chooses to just grunt some of Geralt's lines apparently lol. Personally, I really enjoy his Geralt.

Possibly, although Cavill has been similarly dull in other roles.

But not all of them, so I still wouldn’t blame him over the director, writers, or just the showrunners in general. It’s fine to not be a fan of him as an actor, or think he was dull in certain roles, but that doesn’t make him objectively bad(and I know you didn’t say he was, I’m just adding on other general complaints I’ve heard about him in this role as the basis for this comment, not anything you specifically said).

Not at all! He has an understated form of humor that is hilarious. But it's not up in your face, so you might miss it if you're used to more blatant heroes.
