Giles and Elrond are the two characters I like to imagine as my fictional dad. They are the ideal parental figures in my mind. I love both of them.

I kinda get this. Fictional scenarios where a student gets to be close to a mentor way beyond where the rules of professionalism would allow get to me a bit. I don't mean "close" in a sexual way. I mean, if you ever had a favourite teacher for example...characters like Buffy and Giles are a sort of wish fulfilment of a deeper friendship that reality wouldn't allow.
