I'm a casual fan of the show. I'm not that into anime or mangas (I've only watched a handful of animes all the way through). I like the show a lot. I'm not active in the fandom at all. I don't know a lot about the fandom, but I did have to deal with a stan mansplaining the "true" seasons of the show to me once so yeah I don't blame anyone for not wanting to get into the show.

It's a fun show. I love the visuals. I like the music in the show and nods/homages to musicians in the show. I LOVE THE CAMP! I like a lot of the characters (but the show does suffer from having really seemingly interesting characters who end up being underused/pointless). The storytelling is creative. I like how the writers have epic plots that run through the course of the season as well as episodic episodes and multi episode mini arcs. It was most appreciated IMO in "Diamond is Unbreakable".
I think if you're really into creative creatures and monsters, colorful visuals and characters, people being way too fucking extra for no reason, and into campy stuff it can be a lot of fun to watch.
Oh, and this is a personal gripe, but the show's not good with female characters/relationships/dynamics/how they're presented and utilized. As the seasons go on it gets better (I'm on Episode 5 of "Stone Ocean" it's promising so far, I like Jolene and she fits right into the Jojo role!) but just be prepared for a lot of blatant and casual misogyny/sexism, especially early on. Even in the later seasons it can get tiresome. Like, it's OK to NOT sexualize every not-old-witch female character on the show, you guys.

I've only seen Diamond is Unbreakable but lol if you consider that sexualizing every female character (gender stereotyping is a claim I can sort of get behind, but then there's still Josukes's mom). You sound like you enjoy fanmade edits of MHA female characters that "fix" their costumes.

If you’ve only seen Diamond is Unbreakable, then you have no idea what you’re talking about. AYRT is talking about the arcs before that. You sound like an idiot, making assumptions about people based on nothing, while ignorant of the subject you’re talking about. Ignorance is fine on it’s own, but it’s not ideal to be that way when you’re trying to be smug and superior to someone else. Maybe stop making huge leaps.

MMMH I'm not so sure that I see the sexualization of every character that's not old witch female. Sure, the misogyny and sexism is there and it's pervasive especially in the first seasons, but I think that Jojo has had less of a sexualize all female character problem compared to the vast majority of shounen manga.

Also IDK it's an old manga. The anime is new, but that's the faithful adaptation to a manga that's been going on from 1987. Stone Ocean is from 2000. For the time it was pretty progressive and receive a lot of back lash when it was being published.
I'm not saying that the sexism isn't there, IT IS THERE. But it's clearly a product of it's time and cosidering... it could be a loooot worse.
So yeah, if anyone will begin watching from now on: be mindful of that.
IT'S OLD HUMOR WITH SEXIST JOKES AND CAMP. Great fun if you don't take stuff too seriosuly.
