Why the fuck not? It's fiction. It's not like every real life person has the same erogenous zones either. Real people often have surprising areas that turn them on, and not every commonly accepted erogenous zone applies to every person.

It doesn't even have to be that everyone's in the universe's entire anus and rectum are erogenous zones, it could simply be that in your story or headcanon, that bottom character's zones are there and act like that.

No explanation other than that needed because no other claims than that are being made. /shrug

you're not wrong, but also, the muscle ring around the hole is an erogenous zone for a lot of people who like to bottom. mine sure as hell is. it's not the spot inside that, er, hits the spot, it's the action and that's what most anal sex fic ultimately has to focus on anyway so. win-win?

basically OP you're not wrong for a multitude of reasons that come down to "there's more to anal sex than just a prostate."

I was wondering about this too, speaking as an asexual virgin - it seems to me that if women also enjoy anal sex, it can't be SOLELY the prostate stimulation, since they don't have one.

But then I was wondering if it was a dumb assumption to make that women might enjoy it for any reason other than "giving my lover what they want makes me happy". Which is a pretty good reason to do stuff that does not give one physical pleasure directly, but... heck if I would know.

tl;dr: Thanks for some insight. This dumb virgin thanks you. ;)

Cis woman here, can verify that many of us like it just because it feels really really good. In fact I once had a (cis male) partner who could take it or leave it, and did it mostly to make me happy.

Anal play with fingers and toys is also quite popular with people who have neither prostates nor penises.

Definitely useful to know, thanks! I don't write or read a lot of smut but I'd gotten the impression that anal could be enjoyable for basically any combination of genders/genitals - since everyone has an anus... I hope...

(Fortunately the one ship I mostly write smut in, the guy who usually bottoms has any number of reasons to be into it other than physical sensation, so that's mostly what I've focused on. But always looking to expand. ...So to speak.)

AYRT

Yes, physical sensation is a perfectly good reason to bottom in its own right. It doesn't feel good to everyone but for the people it does, it's really really good.

What's weird to me is the idea that it's "unrealistic" to write a bottom taking a lot of pleasure in it. There's nothing at all unrealistic about that. Smut tends to exaggerate it some because that's the genre, but if it didn't feel good, it wouldn't be as popular as it is!

Exactly. People wouldn't do it if it didn't feel good!

That's always what I kind of assumed, and the suggestion in this secret that it only felt good when there was prostate stimulation kind of threw me. But being entirely without personal experience in that regard, it could be that like... everything I had ever read was wrong/grossly exaggerated. You never know.

So I appreciate the folks in this thread clarifying that yes, it does feel good if you're into it. I was really hoping I hadn't been getting it way, way wrong for 20 years, y'know.

da but yeah, I'm a woman and I can confirm that the anal entrance itself is very sensitive and feels good when stimulated when you're turned on. I'm sure the same goes for men too!

Speaking as a fairly sexually-experienced woman (but just from one point of view), this area has a ton of nerve endings. Anal penetration can feel sort of weird if you're not used to it and extremely uncomfortable if a person isn't relaxed and prepped, though I understand some people who do it frequently might be able to more easily relax for it and be more spontaneous.

But also, analingus can feel shockingly good. Part of the appeal is how absolutely dirty and taboo it is to a lot of people. I like getting it but god knows I won't do it.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-02 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that "dirty" taboo is a big part of the reason why I do love doing it!

Second this, and rimming is such an unbelievable pleasure. I don't have a prostate and admit to being a little jealous about that, but I don't need one to enjoy anal play.
