holy shit

i have no right to discuss whether redskins was offensive, but i do know that the change was forced not by actually offended native american groups but by white girls on twitter who somehow broke through to the sponsors

well congratulations, you did it, now we've gone through a full rebrand to the washington commanders. we might as well have changed all the uniforms to beige, taupe and grey

(the only positive i can take from this is that in the climate that brought about the change i genuinely thought we might end up as the washington #blacklivesmatters)

They should have been the Red Barons or something. Like the pizza and also Woodstock.

for real tho there's a team called the Generals (side note I have no idea which sport or which city plus I don't fucking care) so you can take this as a means of one-upping them in rank? or promoting the stupid antagonism between branches of the military where one cares about generals being top rank and the other being all into commanders? there's a lot of layers to play with here if you actually give two rabbit-sized shits about sports and teams.
