I've thought about this a lot, because I do think there can be a social good to gently banging on dysfunctional boundaries with caveats, and I think my main problem is that with these shows the person whose boundaries are violated never gets a perspective beyond "stop!" and the person breaking them is legit causing chaos and unhappiness. That's not my only problem but it's my main one.

Best comment. What you say about "gently banging on dysfunctional boundaries" is something I was thinking when I first read the secret, but couldn't really think how to phrase it in a way that felt nuanced and balanced and fair.

As someone who definitely has my share of dysfunctional boundaries, I still very much agree with this comment.
