I LOATHE that trope. I hate hate hate when that happens in a fic or a movie or a tv show. If it were to happen to me in real life i would be SO fucking angry, and basically done with whoever had perpetrated it.

And yes - HATE when that person's 'friends' or family are all 'oh, lighten up!!'.

I don't know what show this is, but I couldn't agree more with your sentiments. That trope is infuriating to me, and I hate hate hate when all the blame and scorn is put on the character having their boundaries violated to such a degree because they're "too uptight." It's good to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way, though.

Well, for me, it would depend on the kind of movie, and whether or not the scene is seriously being presented as no big deal. I wouldn't mind it in a comedy, since I expect some stupid shit to happen. But in anything else, it would probably bother me, especially if the boundary crusher is making the boundary-crushed out to be the unreasonable one.

I hate that too. Has the show gotten worse about that? I feel like the first series walked a pretty good line of testing Richard’s boundaries without stomping over them. I haven’t really been watching the newest detective, so I haven’t seen this episode you’re talking about.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of this trope either. It does depending on exactly how it's handled, but it can often be pretty obnoxious.

Though personally, the one that bothers me more is when a character gets dragged along on some activity they had no say in and actively tried to refuse, and then they get treated like they're being a big old meanie downer for not being happy and cheerful the whole time.

I like how Bojack Horseman dealt with this issue, and even offscreen to boot. After a birthday party at the library, Diane returns home with Mr. Peanutbutter, only for him to have thrown a surprise party in their house as well...

... making an explicitly socially-spent Diane snap in the middle of it, due to her being overwhelmed and exhausted over a party she didn't even want. It's what begins the collapse of her relationship with Mr. Peanutbutter, as we're shown how self-centered the later is for all his codependency.

For crying out loud, writers like these never had children not of their own fucking up their stuff.

I don't watch Breaking Bad, so I'm just going to assume it's because Jesse is an approachable goal for getting on HRT. Jesse is probably within the same age-group as those people who are making the trans headcanons and are watching the show. The rest of the near ubiquity of the headcanon is probably just folks not wanting to rock the boat with those who insist on it, which is a standard fandom experience.
