Your suggestion of filtering out explicit fic works obviously, and of course if it really was a big deal I'm sure people would do just that. I would. But it feels like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Again, I get it: it's not up to the writers or anyone else. It's my choice to either put up with the occasional smutty summary, or forgo all explicit fic altogether. I'll live, but I'll eagerly take this occasion to complain. (Is that not what F!S is for?) Especially since I personally cannot fathom how a summary like that is appealing even when you're looking for smut. But I suppose it must be or people wouldn't keep doing it.
