Seems like total wank bait.

This POV is through the lense of the male gaze and LMFAO there's more to life than living for the male gaze. If all you can do is see the worth of a woman's objectification to men then that's on you. No woman owes you an explanation as to how she presents herself to the world/others.

You are totally (and I bet deliberately) missing the point of OP's original post. As women, we are forced to live life through the male gaze, as it's all around us. Whether the women are empowering themselves or not is a debate I feel we should have. But just saying "we shouldn't think about how these things affect (particularly young women) because... there's more to life" is infuriating. The fact is, these things will affect you, whether you stick your head in the sand, or not.

"male gaze" is a cinematography term lmao, it literally only exists in movies

you don't think that women are told from childhood that they should make their decisions about how to dress and style themselves center around the idea that men will be looking at them? Whether that's considered "good thing, you should be trying to look attractive for them" or "bad thing, you should be covering up and hiding your shameful female body."

Bless my mom for telling me that some women dress for other women, some women dress for men, and you should dress for yourself!

But that’s not the same as the male gaze, which as ayrt said, is only a cinematography term. It’s just as inane as OP calling how real women dress “fanservice”, when that’s also a strictly fictional term.

Wrong. Also not a laughing matter. Mansplaining at its most egregious
