This argument is a (frankly childish) and poor attempt to shut down any true discourse on the subject of the sexualisation of women (oooh youse just jealous). For myself, I do occassinally go out wearing low cut outfits and feel sexy in myself. So no, I'm def not jealous of these women. But this isn't what this is about.

For the record, I agree, OP. I frankly never understood how women sexualising themselves is "feminist". Yes, on one hand women should be able to wear what they want, hell should be able to walk around naked in society if they choose. On the other hand, this is about celebrity women deliberately marketing themselves in a way that, yes, appeals to the male demographic by sexualising themselves, and then dressing it up as "Feminism".

THIS
Like any woman should wear what she chooses. Any person should wear what they choose.
But calling women who sexualize themselves to hell and back while selling this look to young teenagers feminists ain't it

It seems to me that it's neither feminist nor anti-feminist. It's just a way some people dress, and some of those people are feminist and some aren't.

This. Everyone upthread is being a bit dismissive because they’re famous, but this isn’t as cut and dry as “it’s not feminism when famous women do it”. It’s a lot more individual and complex.

Applause.
Fed up with the men on this thread who just want fap fodder and the Cool Girls pandering to 'em.
