I got all the adulting out of the way early so I could mostly lie around playing games...

...And looking at used cars on Carfax because one of the things I did was schedule a diagnostic appointment for my poor Prius for tomorrow morning. Googling the issue it's been giving me seems to suggest that it could be the 12v battery (small repair, maybe like $200), alternator (medium repair, maybe $500 or more), or hybrid battery (a few thousand at the dealership which is about the only place that can handle replacements). Or possibly just a wonky sensor that triggered once and the lights just need to be reset and nothing's actually wrong.

Considering it also definitely needs brake work and the VSC needs fixing, I am thinking if the total comes to more than $1000 I would be better served trading it in for a newer model. (And I have found a few used BLUE Priuses of a newer model year with minor cosmetic damage so far, so... I'm not sure which way I'm hoping this goes.)

Thanks! I bought my current car in a rush because I got in an accident that totaled my last one... definitely not fun. Which is why I've already been doing some of the preliminary research - if there is something really wrong with my car, I don't want to wait until it actually dies and I can't drive myself to the dealers but am at the mercy of other people's kindness and schedules. :P
