I can see why people don't like that characterization, but there were some occasions in the MCU where Tony was very manipulative and on occasion, coercive when he wanted something or thought he was right.

I meant coercive sexually. As for manipulative, I don't think he was ever manipulative in a particularly dark way. It's not manipulation I mind in and of itself, so much as how dark the intent is. I like complex characters, like Tony, who can be incredibly heroic and selfless, yet also selfish and insensitive by turns. He's a mess and I'm here for it.

What I'm not here for is sadism, deliberate cruelty, or sexual predation, and I don't see those things as being in character for Tony canonically, either.
