I love LOVE taking all my honorable, righteous, good men characters and seeing them all kinds of messed up as dark! character. The more honorable and good they are, the better. But agree on the last bit, like if it's not tagged as dark!MC, whatever the villain version fandom goes with, or yandere, and the author is playing it straight like no, "I fully believe Captain America would kidnap, mentally break and coerce a woman into being his wife". Nope. But dark!Cap would.
