I'm the same way about "dry" elements. I love full descriptions and books that really allow you to immerse yourself in the fictional world because it feels so fleshed out. I also love books that read like fictional history books.

It took me a minute to realize it wasn't a real book either. I did like his allusion to Tolkien when talking about how there were long descriptions of trees.
