Hahahha. Yeah, I can relate to this. It's not like I never listened to Queen before the early 00s, but I got into Eroica right as I was having another "oh right they're awesome, must listen to all the Queen" phase and now I can't imagine Freddy Mercury singing "Good Old Fashioned Loverboy" because I just picture Dorian (singing to a very annoyed Klaus).

This happens to me all the time. I end up associating music and media that have nothing to do with each other, together in the same memory because I happened to consume them both at the same time.

I read the whole trilogy ages ago, but if I remember correctly, I don’t think that issue is ever addressed. I didn’t like the books and I think I only read them ‘cause I had a lot of time on my hands back then. I normally love Meg Cabot’s books, but she’s written a few doozies (the Airhead series was another one that I struggled to finish).

So you liked her just fine, but like the show better without her and don’t miss her? Well, that’s not exactly a contradiction. And it’s not something I can’t relate to at all in some way. It’s just interesting.

I guess I do understand in that it’s unusual for me to really hate characters, with some exceptions. I typically either love them or don’t feel that strongly for them. The characters I don’t feel strongly for can range from “like and don’t mind them” to “don’t care about them at all, and forget they exist sometimes”. So I would probably feel a similar way if a character I liked but didn’t love or feel too strongly for left or was written out. I just can’t think of any examples of that happening off the top of my head.

I’m psyched too, because I loved Progressive and Alternative! Maybe not as much as the original series, but I still adore them! And I love the theme naming for the sequels so much!
