Exactly. Make it available legally and I'll watch it that way, but there's a lot of stuff that isn't available legally or that is only on physical media and I don't do physical media because I just plain don't have the space to buy DVDs for anything other than shows and movies I really, really love. The advent of streaming services cut my piracy by probably 85-90%.

NAYRT but same. I subscribe to three streaming services and that's still less than I'd pay for cable. If something is going to release to one of those in say... less than a year or two after it airs (mostly this means movies, as a lot of TV releases directly now), I'm fine with that, I've got enough stuff to watch in the meantime and if it's something I "NEED" to see, I'll often see it in theatre because going to the movies alone is my destressor lol.

I think I've pirated like... one thing in the last year? And it was something I already owned on DVD lol. I just wanted to watch it in bed, haha.

NAYRT--I don't pirate because I only have mg phone for internet access, so even streaming is annoying because a 3x5" screen just doesn't make for engrossing viewing, so I either buy dvds, wait for stuff to be available at the library, or sometimes have friends pirate for me, especially things that don't get dvd releases.

But the basic problem is the same: the fewer places and formats something is available in, the more common piracy will get.
