I'm on a diet due to my busted liver, so please, everyone, tell me about your recent meals. Or meals you are planning on having. Let me live, culinary speaking, vicariously through you.

I've been on a stir-fry kick and my recent experiment was Sichuan green beans:

I had to leave out the peppercorns because I couldn't source them, but it's delicious... spicy, pungent green beans with a kick. I added a bit of ground pork, too.

I've been craving this spicy basil duck fried rice from the Thai place down the street. Its so good, idk if you like duck or not but if you do, its one of the best duck dishes I've ever eaten. Fried rice with red peppers, peas, carrots, and egg, with lots of tea-smoked duck meat with crispy skin and little cherry tomatoes that pop open during cooking and give the dish a fresh tomatoey burst of flavor that complements both the smoky duck and the spiciness of the fresh Thai basil leaves. I love having it with a glass of pinot grigio, but a Thai iced tea is also very hard to beat.

I made fried rice the other night, with big shrimps and eggs and mushrooms, ginger and garlic and onions and just the right amount of soy sauce. I also had a coconut scone for breakfast this morning.

Sorry, can't help you! I had a pair of shitty cheesburgers for dinner, some wilted salad, and a glass of water.

Tonight I had tasty grilled chicken my dad made, not sure what kind of spices he used, but it was really good. And rice pilaf and asparagus. And then a slice of peach pie for dinner.

I've had some weird cravings lately. On Sunday I went out of my way to make a bagel sandwich. Two scrambled eggs fried in butter, with the bagels placed on top. Once the eggs were cooked, I turned it over to fry the bagel in the leftover butter and added two slices of cheddar, bacon bits, and green onions. It was delicious.

Today at lunch for some reason I was craving ketchup. So I made a plate of tater tots, and two hamburger patties with cheddar (we didn't have any hamburger buns, so it was just the meat). Dipped everything in ketchup. Very satisfying.

My household is up to our necks in feijoas, so over the past couple of weeks I've made feijoa muffins, feijoa loaf, feijoa sorbet, and feijoa fritters. Next on my list is feijoa smoothie.
