I think it's appalling how little people are condemning Chris Rock for his "joke". Violence is bad etc., but so is making jokes of anyone's illness or disability. If it had been someone about someone using a wheelchair, I bet the reactions would've been different. People like to ignore illnesses and disabilities that aren't as obvious at first sight and think they don't really matter.

You and I must be on very different platforms because the vast majority of comments I've seen were "the dick deserves it for making fun of her illness".

I haven't seen a single article yet that hasn't said the joke was in bad taste.

as somebody who made an entire documentary about black women's hair, chris really should have known better

if she was a cancer patient there's no way in hell people would have debated if it was 'alright' to make the joke. she's got a chronic illness yet because it's been deemed 'not as bad' somehow it's completely fine to make jokes about it? hair loss is a sensitive subject person-to-person as it is, even more so when coupled with a long term illness.
