NA

That anon raises a fair point though: how do you feel about ex-gays? Do you believe that the existence of ex-gays proves that straight youths are brainwashed by the gay agenda to think of themselves as gay, when in reality they are just confused straights?

I mean, there have been several accounts of, for example, celebrities, especially in the 80s coming out as bisexual despite being straight because it was trendy. I never used the term brainwashing so no, I don't believe it's brainwashing, neither in one nor the other case. I do believe it is a trend and unlike being gay or bisexual, it has major effect on a person's body so I'm not sure the two should be compared at all, but anyway. Actually, airt brought up that detranstitioners are all forced by society to detranstition, which is pretty shitty and hypocritical but oh well.

I also never said that the existence of detransitioners negates the actual trans people who don't detranstiotion, but there is a reason the numbers, especially for afabs are up both in transtion and detranstition and it's not all down to "debut they're forced to".

There are also people mostly trans men, who transitioned because of social abuse over being butch and being tired of being called a bull dyke. You can see how being a short guy is preferable to being abused on the street, and not just verbally, for being a masculine-appearing woman.

I'm not a TERF at all and support trans people and gay people everywhere, but this sometimes happens.

The reason detransitioning numbers are up is because transitioning numbers are up. Because we now live in a world where that’s more acceptable, though we’re not there yet.

It’s like saying same-sex marriage is bad because statistics show that same-sex divorce is up in the US compared to before 2015.

Acceptable only insofar as people who detransition and speak up about it get more hate from TRA groups than even the evil terfs right?

Considering they absolutely don’t get more hate from trans rights activists than TERFs, your point is moot. What do you even think you’re doing trying to bring this disingenuous nonsense in here?
