don't know a damn thing about the character since i didn't watch whatever show he was in before he swans on in through the desert in Book of Boba, but after he's "dead" they make a point of showing that thing on his chest blinking, so nah, pretty sure he'll be around again.

i don't like him either cos he shot the greying twink cowboy, but it's, yanno. it's Disney. Disney will never let anyone die. franchise full of zombies, yarg.

I thought she made Fo Ye lock the medicine away because it was only making her feel more ill? But Er Ye was so obsessed he would just... keep making her take it even though that meant dying in more distress than otherwise?

Or maybe I misunderstood. But that conversation between Ya Tou and Fo Ye seemed (to me) to be about her asking Fo Ye to enforce her end-of-life wishes and DNR order when her husband was too distraught to do so. And Fo Ye was a good friend to her so he did that.


As to the huge mourning arc... I think it works thematically though the execution is a bit dry. If we'd had time to get to know her before she was Beautiful Dying Girl it would have helped, I think. As it was, she was kind of a macguffin, and it's hard for the audience to care about a macguffin in the long term.

Yeah, I guess that wouldn't feel great, but pretty much everyone has some damaging ideas internalised, and you're aware of it and the implications, so calling yourself 'fucked up' sounds a bit harsh to me. You can always work on it, when you're ready to.

There's not always some secret underlying self-hating reason for being a bigot. People can be bigots simply because they hate others or like feeling good and superior about themselves. Insisting there has to be another reason like you cannot believe humans can just be that way, or that we must always follow some kind of logic is... naive, sadly

Short answer: no.

Long answer: "queerphobic person is just secretly queer themselves" always comes across to me as a convenient way for non-queer people to wash their hands of any association. "It's not US hurting you, YOU'RE actually hurting yourselves." Does it happen? Sure. But it's FAR more likely that homophobes and transphobes are just cishet people who hate us.
