Good for you. Clearly some people like him. Why is that so hard to grasp? I bet your fave isn't everyone else's fave either. Different people like different things. The sooner you grasp THAT, the more you'll enjoy fandom.

There's not always some secret underlying self-hating reason for being a bigot. People can be bigots simply because they hate others or like feeling good and superior about themselves. Insisting there has to be another reason like you cannot believe humans can just be that way, or that we must always follow some kind of logic is... naive, sadly

Short answer: no.

Long answer: "queerphobic person is just secretly queer themselves" always comes across to me as a convenient way for non-queer people to wash their hands of any association. "It's not US hurting you, YOU'RE actually hurting yourselves." Does it happen? Sure. But it's FAR more likely that homophobes and transphobes are just cishet people who hate us.

She sais she's phobic because she was hurt by a trance man. Doesn't need to be deeper than that.

I just assume she genuinely fears that somebody AMAB is taking away her status as a woman, even though it doesn't. Ignorance doesn't have to be that complicated.
