I think those that judge without watching are way, way worse. Some of my fav. series are the ones I'm most critical of BECAUSE I know them inside and out and have a passionate interest in flaws in the plot/world building/characters arcs. You wouldn't know I love a series if you heard me engage in a vehement rant about the flaws of it, and that was all you knew of my involvement in the fandoms, but yeah. I love these canons. I love them ferociously and enjoy tearing into them to see what makes them tic and keeping track of all the stupid, little inconsistencies that come from long running series. I love seeing how people reconcile the flaws in the world building. I love reworking it myself in fanfic. I love a lot of series. But the ones I'm passionate enough to write fanfic and engage in discourse and trade headcanons about are ALWAYS the series that I find are deeply, incredibly, MAGNIFICENTLY flawed.

The canons I love but I don't gush about online or write fic for are all ones that--I consider them, not perfect, but perfect *enough*.

But it's the flawed, messy canons that I'm a fan of, that I will tear to shreds, that I will dove deep into and see how I can make it work with the creator's intent. So, yeah, I absolutely and definitely will rip a series to shreds. But it's how I love a show.

I don't hate watch anything.
