You're right about the first part, they are too old, even with CGI enhancing.

You're a billion percent wrong about that sitcom tho. Yikes.

Yes, it's a valid question. But if there's any chance it can come off as rude, especially considering the topic, the asker should rephrase it or clarify beforehand that they don't mean it as a rude.

awww I remember watching Mr Ben on a vhs tape whenever I went over to my cousin's house.

Animated would be good but I would also accept old-school British television style.

Except I guess I don't know if British television still knows how to make shows like that successfully. It seems like the Brits have really leaned into wanting to sex everything on TV up and that doesn't work at all for Dark Is Rising. It should be low budget as hell, because it's ultimately such a rural, old-fashioned series in my mind.

ia, if she were conventionally pretty the class would never bully her. I think Luna's casting is great in this regard.

or Canadian. There was controversy re their Prime Minister's Indian vacation.

+1
I also use the filter feature a lot, so all the tags exluding minor pairings are fine with me.

(Anonymous) 2022-04-29 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Never mind, sorry.

(Anonymous) 2022-04-29 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It sounds like both, plus some Canadians as another anon said, but being able to see that is apparently not a thing for some people. It’s got to be one or the other that takes all the negative qualities in the world, as if only one country at a time can have stereotypical awful tourists.

They did the same for the Olsen twins, only with extra ew because twins.

Look, Hermione's "glow up" was always the equivalent of the Princess Diaries "Glow Up" -- the person was always pretty, but the styling became different. Most people look awkward during their preteen years.

I do think it's very fair to be angry at the movie for never letting her have curly hair past the third movie because of how harmful the "straight hair is automatically prettier than curly hair" mentality is. It would have seemed way more natural if she had curly hair during classes/on the run, and a variety of hair styles (yes even straightened) during the Yule Ball/Hogsmead trips/other social things.

Mostly, I was annoyed at how the director glammed her up the second it wouldn't look like he was glamming up a kid. Perfect encapsulation for how teen girls are expected to look like grown women. Also, what's the impact of the Yule Ball when you already changed the way you did her hair and make up? It was just like "okay, so she just put her hair in a bun and is wearing a pretty dress instead of a uniform" which made everyone's "OMG!" reactions seem asinine.

For real. What makes it doubly hilarious is that in the next breathe he said Billie Eilish is great. And she is great! But she also cowrites all her songs with her brother. Lol!

But see, in her case it counts. She actually deserves artistic credit for her life's work. She's not like other girls. She's edgy and real.

I don't know how anyone can listen to a man dismiss sixteen years and apprx 200 songs worth of wildly successful, critically praised artistic output, without having lifted a single finger to check whether his presumptions has any merit whatsoever, and call it fucking "mild" or "no big deal."

Fuck that. Just call her a cunt or a dumb bitch; it would be less toxic.

And the Adele stuff is just-- what the fuck?

"Woman is insecure and her work is mid," says man in public statement.

Sure, 'cause why would someone be insecure when their industry idol says such sweet things about them? It's inexplicable. Women, amiright?

Don't say that!

Agreed!

You’re probably right. I’ve misread things so often that I kind of assume that’s the case by default so often.

When I read things like these, I am glad I was never into Harry Potter. What an imbecile fandom.

(Anonymous) 2022-05-01 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, worked for me mostly. Don't worry about the mad Dany stans, they talk big but can't do anything about it :-)

I'm definitely more keen on Gene era than pre Breaking Bad era as it goes on.
