It's the reverse for me - I've seen so many people make a stink about OT3s that I'm now into them in part out of pettiness. A lot of people hate polyamory with a passion both in and out of fandom and it's tiring how rare it is to have a conversation about OT3s without someone crying foul over the threesome in question.

Maybe I take it too personally sometimes because I'm polyam IRL, but the constant hating on it is way more tiresome than the evangelism, because negativity is almost always inherently more exhausting and depressing.

When I talk about my poly ships, I'm not trying to be "smug" or "superior" or any of that. I'm just enjoying my ship like everyone else and hoping to inspire others to make fic or art for it.

I wish it was canon in a lot more media than it is because yes, I actually do think it's a cool way to resolve a lot of love triangles. It doesn't work for all of them but it could certainly work for more of them than are written that way.
