Oh, I don't disagree with any of this. I have come to terms with all of it but doesn't change the fact that I am pretty shitty at hiding my weird but, hey, I learned through pain to fake it well despite my unusual background and brain structure so I think I am doing pretty well regardless. There are, definitely. It's not a shame to be like that, either. Some people live quite happily :)

Ugh... sorry about it, but it's nice that you can find your old faves there! Some of my faves are so old they can't be found anywhere anymore, even on Wayback Machine. Around 5 years ago I found a CD I had burned with "important content" from my HD back when I was a kid, which my last portable CD reader could miraculously still read, such a blast from the past. Nowadays I don't have that reader anymore (it got too old and stopped working, lol) and the CD is nowhere to be found, and even if I do find it it's probably going to be unreadable so ...

Yep.

Oh... for sure, I grew apart from the vast majority I met too but am thankful that I managed to keep in contact with a few (thanks, Facebook - you did ONE good thing!)

True, people can be different even in different rl situations (personally, I am) but I was too young back then, and the Internet felt simple so I enjoyed getting to know people online. Nowadays I don't really get close to anyone (anywhere).

Yeah, if it works for you that's good. Positive even, if you can make friends irl - I think it tends to be better than making friends online anyway. In my case, the old web made me feel less socially anxious or inept, but since then things have gone downhill. Besides I have always been warmer online but not THAT warm, like some people who went on to marry people they met online. That's... not me lol.
