I kind of relate but kind of don't. For me, the #1 biggest reason why I don't like OT3+ fic is because I find the logistics quite hard to manage -- this applies even when I can see the OT3 dynamic and find it plausible. It's still a bit tiring to read or write about. Reason #2 is probably because I am meh about at least one of the relationships in the OT3 to the point of it being a soft NOTP -- here, I just can't even see the appeal of the dynamic at all and would much prefer a love triangle, infidelity, or my OTP winning rather than the OT3 solution. There are some relationships I definitely think make the most sense as OT3s, though. But even then, I don't go out of my way to read OT3 fic because they just don't do much for me.

I do find it a bit baffling when people say "just OT3 it! it's so easy!" especially for relationships where, like, the two legs of a love triangle have zero chemistry or interaction outside the context of being interested in/shipped with the same person? Like, yeah, you can make it work, but it's going to require effort. If the person saying that writes OT3 fic and has made it work in fiction, then I respect that. But if they just assume it's an easy solution to a ship war or love triangle or whatnot, I would really prefer they put their money where their mouth is and try their hand at writing it in a way that is actually in-character and emotionally satisfying...
