But that's the thing, it just needs to be more acknowledged. I don't think this is such an uncommon trigger. A lot of people can find it disgusting but usually in a more mild way and can deal with it. But frankly, it would be much better if they had a choice to decide for themselves

Yeah pretty much. Eye gore is a much more common trigger than people like to admit, IMO, so you just have people avoiding whole genres instead.
