(Anonymous) 2022-06-03 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)if there was a public backlash against depp because of something that was publicly said about him resulting in him losing work (whether you - general you - agree with that or not, that was the finding of the trial), that isn't going to be turned round by a private hearing - if he was cancelled in the public eye he needed to be uncancelled in the public eye as well

But that's only a compelling justification for his conduct if you think that his goal is legitimate, IE, if you think that he did nothing wrong and is totally innocent.
