What gets me is this kind of gross implication that anyone who supports JD, including actual abuse victims, is some ninny who's been brainwashed by memes. My personal issues w AH are:
1. Telling him that nobody would believe or side with a male victim of abuse.
2. Lying *under oath* about something as easily checkable as whether she donated money. (And the Humpty Dumpty defense of donate and pledge meaning the same thing does not pass the sniff test)
3. Severe cases of physical assault that somehow left no noticable injuries and required no medial attention.
4. Telling JD she hit him but didn't didn't punch him and otherwise downplaying her physical abuse abuse, which sure sounds like gaslighting to me.

All of this is on video or tape, all from the horse's mouth. I didn't get my sour opinion of AH from memes, tyvm

This. JD isn't a perfect angel by any means, but this show made me loathe AH and I'm glad she got what was coming.

Hooo, my gosh, I hadn't watched through the whole thing, and it somehow gets worse!! She'd literally give him a curfew when when he had to get back for more abuse. Like, you have five minutes to recover from my abusing you or I'm coming after you. The scariest part of that was when JD was alone with her with a knife... because she thought he was going to self harm. Not attack her, self harm. And the way she was angry at him for leaving to attend a movie party. The way she demands, threatens and better him not to leave her. Naaah, bruh. AH is the abuser in this. End of story.

Sounds to me like they took turns abusing each other. (I know some people say mutual abuse can't exist but I disagree strongly with that, it absolutely can). A pox on both their houses.

People like a narrative where there's a terrible abuser and an innocent victim. I don't think that's what happened here at all, and I honestly don't care which person you cast in which role, it's bullshit either way.

JFC all of this! I do have some empathy for him but I am by no means a fan. My empathy stems from seeing the videos SHE filmed of her abusing him. She treated him so much like my mother treated me. And I’m glad this was public because that kind of abuse isn’t the kind portrayed in media and the abusers gaslight their victims into thinking it isn’t abuse. I was about 40 before I finally accepted I really had been abused and was still being abused and I wasn’t merely trying to play the victim as I’ve always been told.

I’m not a Depp fan and the man is problematic but that doesn’t mean AH isn’t an abuser.
