(Anonymous) 2022-06-04 08:22 am (UTC)(link)The same way an atheist might use the phrase "jesus christ" or "god damnit!" isn't because they've changed their viewpoint, people saying they'd be "gay for this or that person" has very little to do with their sexuality as a whole.
The only way I've seen it used is as a complement, that they idolize or just really personally like them- enough that they'd figuratively 'go gay' for them. Attractiveness is really just a kinda plus, since everyone's that little bit shallow, and everyone with eyes are going to have an opinion/preference regardless of gender. Sexuality has little to nothing to actually do with it.
(I phrased this better but then it got eaten by my shitty internet so yeah)
