Congrats, Marvel! You managed to recreate all of the same problems and sources of boredom I have with superhero comics with liveaction movies. Jesus christ.

And for the record, no, I think only the first Iron Man movie was good. That was still a decent movie back when it wasn't trying to be an interconnected universe. Blade and the Raimi Spider-Man films were good too. So no, I'm not against all superhero movies. It's just Marvel's current style of making movies and comics is just so bland.

Sure, the movies have all of the same problems of superhero comics with massive unending crossover events, but on the other hand, they're also much less interesting than the actual comics creatively

Indeed, but then the creative and interesting comics immediately get strangled by having to be in 5000 crossover events and then ~mysteriously~ plummet in sales.

The difference is the comics can keep on going indefinitely, recycling the same characters and character beats, with movies the actors actually physically age and do want to move on, so the MCU has to innovate in ways the comics do not.

*sighs sadly about this*

But then, Amazon fucked Comixology for me, so not like I'm reading anything new anyways 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes this.

I really like some of the comics but I find there is just too much to keep track of, and you have to read so many interconnected things. Whereas with the movies, at least the stronger ones didn't require tons of knowledge just to appreciate the character moments. Now I feel like they lean too heavily on the viewer having seen every single one and all the shows to even understand who the characters are, and the films themselves feel like a kid bashing a bunch of action figures together.
