There is just such a level of performative vitriol regarding the show, and not just from the usual racist misogynists either, a real hunger to see it fail, that Star Wars fandom has hit a new low.

Performative vitriol is fandom default these days, surely? On all sides, as far as I can tell. It's exhausting.

It is the Rian Johnson fans behind the bitching. They need to see everything fail, because if enough Star Wars projects fail then it'll somehow prove them right about TLJ being a masterpiece. The more prequel and interquel stuff succeeds, the sadder they look for trying to run the older fans out of the fandom in the wake of TLJ. I love to see it.

There is literally nothing bad in Star Wars that people won't blame somehow on Rian Johnson, god damn. You have a fixation.

are you new to fandom?

Speaking of performative.

The hate that TRoS got certainly was, especially from RJ fans who were frothing at the mouth that their attempt to dump long time fans out of fandom was not being kept with. Sucks when you think you are the boss of everyone and then get slapped down, don't it peewe.

nearly everyone hated TROS, including plenty of people who also hated TLJ. they hated it because it was a really bad movie.

and none of this has anything to do with Kenobi which is the actual topic at hand

There's a lot of perfo0rmative vitriol about everything in fandom these days. I think it's the default for a lot of very vocal people.
