Why not? The TERFs hate the implication and I love for making TERFs hate things. It is great for my blood pressure and really bad for theirs. Make TERFs angry by saying things that get them angry, that is why I say.

because I'm a trans guy and it makes me angry ffs

Then remember it is about them, not you. You've nothing to be ashamed of, and need not get angry. You are secure in your identity, it is them who get the vapors over it.

Or you can just not use that joke.

Nah, it is a very effective social campaigning tool to shut up Terfs or reduce them to spluttering fools in front of an audience. It really does help shut down terfs and homophobes. So I think that LGBT people who are so insecure about their own identities as to be affected need to suck this one up. Your indignation probably plays well in a certain LGBT home demographic, but all it does is reduce you to the same spluttering fool in general audience. You're harming the cause with it.

First, do you have any actual evidence that calling bigots queer or trans is an effective campaigning tool against bigots? Like, is there any material reason to think that it is "a very effective social campaigning tool"? Or is that something that you just pulled out of your ass?

Second, I think you're misunderstanding the objection that people have to this tactic. Well, I think there are many objections they have to this tactic, really, but my point is, many of the objections have nothing to do with people being insecurity about their own identities. The problem is more that a lot of times bigotry is actually not at all about people being in self-denial about their true identity, and just assuming that everyone who hates trans people is secretly trans is massively mistaken as to what is actually going on. Also, it's kind of shitty to say to trans people "all of those bigots who loudly hate you are actually secretly the same as you". There are probably a bunch more problems that I'm not thinking of, but those are two that immediately came to mind.

Third...... if this is a tactic, who are you deploying against? No one involved in this conversation has said anything transphobic. JKR isn't involved in this conversation. It's possible that someone reading this is transphobic. But we know for a fact that a trans person is involved in the conversation who doesn't like it. So.... what are you doing here? Who is the general audience in question?

Fourth - I mean, I wanted to try to address the substantive things you've said but I also want to say that your whole attitude here is massively weird and out of pocket and fucked up. Just weird shit.
