Not to be *that* guy but it was Friedrich Nietzsche and he suffered multiple physical illnesses throughout his life.

Seriously. I don't know about the thing about Nietzsche below, but everyone I've ever personally heard say this has been super rich and privileged and never had to deal with any hardship in their lives.
