You ever read a book or watch a movie that is so perfect you feel like you just got stoned off of it? Mmmm. And even when you're still riding that high you wonder when your next fix will be, downright jonesing for more of that good shit.

For me this is almost always a fanfic experience. I think I was a teen the last time this happened with original fiction, but really excellent fanfic gets me feeling this way for sure.

Absolutely.

And like, you get angry at all of the other books or movies or whatever that aren't as good and aren't as perfectly attuned to your taste.

And then you re-read/watch it every now and then just to feel that anger again. Just to fine-tune your taste again.
