Work continues to be frustrating and ridiculous. Today, the program manager group-texted all of us two shots of shelves in our supply closet, where we keep things like toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc. Like 'look, here, we have this stuff'.

We know? Fuck's sake, that's where we RESUPPLY STUFF FOR THE CLIENTS AND US FROM. You utter fucking pillock.

The first staff meeting in almost a month, she complained about how she had 'so many' texts from us, and phone calls, and we need to just 'make decisions on our own'. Well, lady, first of all: if you have decided that certain decisions or jobs are now on us, rather than on the PM, as they were in the past? You need to make that clear before hand, not whinge about it afterward when WE DON'T KNOW. Also, also? These new people are fucking clueless and they have not been trained enough and they are not DOING THE JOB.
Last but not least - our funding grants DEPEND ON US DOING CERTAIN THINGS. And these things are not being done because you are an epic fucking wanker who won't be told. Holy. Fucking. Gods.

Also, i had to turn down TWO people last week for shelter because we were closed because of COVID and both were desperate and crying on the fucking phone to me and i hate, hate, hate that.

I don't understand people who take on leadership roles they clearly aren't qualified for and then complain that they have to... lead? Did she think it was going to be smooth sailing or some shit? Especially at a homeless shelter, where folks probably have trauma? So strange.

I think it's this - the Ex. Director is an idiot who doesn't have a clue, either, and I think doesn't represent what the job entails very well when she's hiring people. I think she just mis-represents it and/or explains it poorly, and she is also a person who doesn't like being bothered with the irritating and mundane details, so i'm sure she tells people they don't have to bother, as well.

It's a shelter for domestic and sexual violence survivors, and sexual trafficking survivors, and, on top of that, temporary *emergency* shelter, so the person has to be in imminent need, like - they just got beaten yesterday, or choked, or whatever. In fear of their life, being stalked, running desperately to hide kind of thing. So layers and layers and extra layers of trauma, sometimes with kids, often with cronic mental or physical health issues and obviously PTSD.

The last thing we need there is lackadaisical staff or management.
